Things to Know
The weather can shift from hot and windy to inclement and rainy. In addition to comfortable walking shoes, guests are recommended to wear layers including a long sleaved top, full length pants, a hat and a light rain or water repellent jacket. Most of the hike is easy on flat grassy land. However, the hikes to the upper and lower craters are sloped with uneven terrain and some loose gravel.
